The Big Trip

We're back... planes, trains and automobiles... I survived a cross country plane trip with three kiddos alone.  Actually it was less eventful than the trip home-(where our plane broke and we sat in it for two hours before they decided it really was too broken to fly- broke should be b-r-o-k-e with airplanes).  Thank goodness for our secret room at MSP.  Hidden under the.... wait... I'm not going to tell you- it's a secret.  But thankfully, it got us through the 4 hour layover including the disappointment of finding the airport playscape CLOSED for remodeling.  Lala thought it looked safe "enough" but we left it alone anyway.

Lots of big excitement once we got there.  Lala got sick immediately and missed Grandparent's University at MSU and grandpa has still NEVER lived in a dorm on campus only skanky student ghetto houses.  But fortunately we found out through an urgent phone message from the health department... we dodged a bullet.  A young student came down with whooping cough that week.  It was almost funny how relieved the state public health nurse was when I spoke to her today.

Pie has become such a good traveler.  She has been, since the day we brought her home... a homebody.  She is always the first to ask when are we going home- even on a trip to the grocery store.  This trip she loved grandpa's house so much she told him repeatedly that she was going to buy it and live there.  Save your pennies, babygirl, it's for sale!

PB remains a man's man!  All grandpa had to say was "Want to go for a ride in the truck?" and my little man was his best buddy.  Too bad they managed to lose one of the terribly expensive, extra wide boy's sandals I just bought for him on their first trip.  "Barefootin'" was the theme and "Free Willy" no explanation needed- I assume. :) Ahhh, boys.

Here are my darlings at the scene of the crime so to speak... at MSU in the botanical laboratory in front of the library (where mom and dad met).  Thank you dear MSU library... you started this crazy family with one summer and 3 floors of flagging unused books!   And... here we are a little older and wiser at Alumni Memorial Chapel where we were married.

Did I mention how HOT it was last week?
